On September 28th, JoyJ volunteers reached Salamina – the oldest town in Magdalena, Colombia.
The people of Salamina can be reached only via river transportation (ferry, boat, or canoe) on the largest river in Colombia: the Magdalena River.
An enthusiastic group of 18 JoyJ volunteers made the trip, visiting 40 families in need in the poorest area of Salamina.
Together, volunteers and members of the community found peace and humanity in a difficult time of need.
